Innovation & Education Advisor

Vincent Chang

As a motivational teacher on innovation leadership, Dr. Chang serves as Faculty Director of Corporate Relations at University of Michigan—Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute. Dr. Chang is responsible for pursuing external growth initiatives, creating/managing Corporate Partners Program, and pioneering Entrepreneurship Hour on iTunes collaborated with Center for Entrepreneurship at University of Michigan.

Dr. Chang created University-Industry Collaboration Projects at the Institute, including Innovation Insight with Covidien and WiFi Proximity Detection on Classmate PC for edutainment community with Intel. He also serves as Teaching-in-English Program Advisor at SJTU with a mission of training the University faculty to teach in English.

Dr. Chang has 7 years of entrepreneurial experience in e-commerce as Founder at Knowledge Master Inc., a privately owned company in USA. The company was proudly recognized as an outstanding e-learning partner by University of California, Berkeley and awarded 7-year business contract from 2008 to 2014. A groundbreaking application of the company’s bilingual e-learning model was with UC Berkeley, where Dr. Chang serves as the Lead Instructor of IC Design and Techniques Certificate Program. Since 2008, over 500 engineers from 10 countries have participated in this program.

Dr. Chang was a senior associate professor in electrical engineering with 20 years of experience teaching microelectronics to over 30,000 engineers and students in Taiwan, United States, and China, including UC Berkeley, UC San Diego and IEEE. He published 42 journal & conference papers, authored 14 textbooks, and own three patents.

Dr. Chang obtained his PhD in Electrical Engineering at National Taiwan University in 1993 & his MBA from University of Southern California Marshall School of Business in 2003.
