Jon B. Anderson

Jon B. Anderson is a seasoned business executive and consultant with over thirty years of diverse experience working in and consulting to fast growth, industry-leading public and private manufacturing and service companies. His corporate experience includes international responsibilities in multi-site operations, acquisition due diligence, operations integration, business start-ups, human resource management and recruiting, and governmental relations in both union and non-union settings. Anderson is a frequently requested speaker in both China and the US addressing trade associations, visiting students and other groups regarding China market entry strategies, US and China cultural issues and other US/China business related challenges. Anderson has in-country experience in Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Mexico, England, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland and Germany and currently resides in Shanghai, China.

Most recently, Mr. Anderson was Partner-in-Charge of the Shanghai, China office of Lake Pointe Partners, LLC. He had full responsibility for all the firm’s China related activities including business development and project execution through development of a strong service team of locally recruited Chinese nationals. Lake Pointe’s China consulting practice concentrated on focus industries including electronic and automotive components, fabricated metal products, medical devices, financial services, chemicals and education. Typical consulting engagements included Market Entry (market landscape studies, site selection and turnkey startups), Supply Chain (sourcing, strategic supplier selection and qualification, supply chain practices audits and quality programs), M&A support (operational due diligence and Human Resources support), and Human Resources Consulting (interim management, executive search and staffing, and trouble shooting non-compliant or non-functional organizations).

Prior to joining Lake Pointe, Mr. Anderson was a Managing Director with a national consulting firm, Reese Partners LLC, where he established their China office and consulted with U.S.-based companies to improve their top line and bottom line results through low-cost country sourcing strategies, market entry in China including start-up of wholly-owned foreign manufacturing enterprises, and HR services. He served in both consulting and interim management capacities. He also assisted private equity sponsors in the U.S. with developing and implementing strategic global sourcing solutions for their portfolio companies. Previously, as a Partner with ChinaLine, LLC, Mr. Anderson advised U.S.-based companies on strategic sourcing with China manufacturers, international business development and global supply chain management.

Mr. Anderson previously served on-site as the Deputy General Manager of BMI Metronics (Shanghai) Co., where he led the planning and implementation of a China business plan, culminating in a turnkey manufacturing operation. Prior positions include Vice President of Human Resources for Littelfuse, Inc. and Director of Human Resources and Administration for a high tech division of R. R. Donnelley & Sons Company.

Mr. Anderson holds a BS degree in Psychology from Purdue University, an MBA from Pepperdine University, and he has earned the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation from the Society for Human Resource Management. Anderson is a member of the Turnaround Management Association, Chicago International Trade Club, Chicago Council for Foreign Relations, International Trade Association of Greater Chicago and many other related associations and groups. In China he is an enthusiastic member of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham Shanghai) and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce (CanCham Shanghai). He is a life member of both the Purdue and the Pepperdine Alumni Associations.
